Each candidate is alloted a unique 5-digit Application No (marked on the Admit Card).
Roll No is of 9-digit comprising 2-digit Discipline Code followed by 2-digit Center Code and followed by 5-digit Application No. Only Roll No should be quoted for all future correspondence

4. INSTRUCTIONS FOR WRITTEN TEST

Candidates are required to fulfill all 'Eligibility Criteria' as specified in the Advertisement for OC 2001
Candidates are required to make their own arrangements for boarding, lodging and transport to the Written Test Venue.
Candidates should bring the following items to the Written Test Venue. (i) Admit Card, (ii) Guidelines for Written Test (this sheet) and (iii) Pen, HB / 2B Pencils, Eraser and Sharpener

Candidates should not correspond with the authorities of the Written Test Venue
Date of Written Test, if changed in case of unavoidable circumstances, will be announced on the HWB web-site(www.heavywaterboard.org) or DAE Website www.dae.gov.in)

A list of 5 digit Application Nos (not the Roll No) of those applicants who qualify for selection interview based on this written test will be published in "EMPLOYMENT NEWS" and also available on the web-site

(www.heavywaterboard.org)or DAE Website www.dae.gov.in) during 3^rd Week of July, 2001.

5. INFORMATION ABOUT WRITTEN TEST

The Written Test will be of two-hour duration and will have separate Question Papers for each discipline. It comprises 100 objective type questions drawn from subjects normally

covered during the respective qualifying course. Each of the 100 objective type questions will generally have 4 choices (one of which is correct) namely A, B, C and D (see Table-1 for sample questions selected for different disciplines). Answers should be marked first on the Question Paper itself. An Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Answer Sheet will be given 75 minutes after the commencement of the Test. Candidates should then mark answers on the OMR Answer Sheet with HB / 2B or equivalent pencil.

Each correct choice of answer will carry 3 marks and each wrong answer will carry 1 negative mark.

Use of calculator, slide rule, log table or other such arithmetic aids is not allowed. Notes, books etc. are also not allowed.
Blank sheets for rough work will be provided.
Candidates will be allowed to leave the examination hall 100 minutes after the commencement of the Test. Before leaving, they must hand over Question Paper, OMR Answer Sheet and the rough working papers to the Invigilator. Admit Card should be retained by the candidate.

6. PROCEDURE FOR MARKING ON THE OMR ANSWER SHEET

The OMR Answer Sheet has Side-1 for information about the candidate and Side -2 for entering answers of the Question Paper.
The Answer Sheet will be scanned by an OMR machine. Do not, therefore, make any stray pencil or ink mark on the sheet. Do not fold the Answer Sheet. This may cause mistakes in scanning and evaluation.

Procedure for marking on Side-1 of the OMR Answer Sheet:

Answer each Question by first writing (with a pencil) in the space (rectangular boxes) provided along with the query and then shade the appropriate oval (by filling oval with the pencil) below the boxes.

Example: If the Discipline Code, Center Code and Application No are 02, 10 and 01234 respectively, entries for Roll No in the OMR Sheet should be made as follows:

In case a mistake is committed in writing/shading the oval, erase it gently before rewriting/shading the oval.

Other information to be provided, adopting similar procedure, on the Side-1 of the OMR Answer Sheet are:
Question Paper No (6 - digit No marked on top right corner of the Question Paper)
University Code: A list of Universities/Institutes along with Code is given on pages 3 and 4. In case any University/Institute is not listed, Code 000 should be used and in such case also write complete name of the University/Institute with city in the space provided in the bottom.
Qualifying Degree: 4 degrees BE, B Tech, B Sc (Tech.) and BSc (Engg.) are listed. Shade the oval against appropriate degree. In case qualifying degree is not one among these 4, shade the oval against 'OTHER' and in such case also write name of the Degree obtained in the space provided in the bottom.
Category: 5 categories SC, ST, OBC, DODPKIA and GENERAL are listed. Shade the oval against appropriate category.
Date of Birth in the format - DD MM YY.
Contact Telephone No with STD Code.
Postal PIN Code of University / Institution from which qualifying degree was/will be awarded. This 6-digit code should be of University/ Institute, and not of the College
Title: Shade one of two ovals- Mr or Ms
Name of Candidate: Surname, followed by First/Second name or initials. Shade appropriate oval for each letter.
Procedure for marking on Side-2 of the OMR Answer Sheet:

The choice of answer marked on the Question Paper (One out of A, B, C, and D) have to be transferred on to this side of the OMR Answer Sheet. The Answer Sheet format has 4 discrete blocks each of 25 questions. Appropriate ovals are to be shaded corresponding to each question. The following are examples of correct and incorrect ways of marking the answers:

After marking of answers is completed, count the number of attempted questions in each block and enter this in the space provided at the bottom left corner.

Candidates should sign with date in the block at the bottom right corner of the Answer Sheet using a pen.
