Joined the Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay, Training School as 11th Batch Trainee in the year 1967.

After completion of training, he joined the Chemical Engineering Division of BARC, and later the Heavy Water Projects. He was associated with various phases of development of Heavy Water technology, and held various positions as General Manager, Heavy Water Plant(Kota), Sr. General Manager(Projects Engineering and Development), Director (Operations) before taking over as Executive Director(Operations). As ED(O), he holds the responsibility for safe and efficient operation of all the Heavy Water Plants in the country. He is also a member of Heavy Water Board and the Crisis Management Group of DAE.
